Ikki Tousen: Shining Dragon found its way to stores last week. Importers bewarned the game looks generic apart from the license and a feature where clothes get ripped off the all female cast during fights. None of the latter is in these clips, but it’s more of a selling point for Ikki Tousen: Shining Dragon than the gameplay. Something about kicking fighters that teleport in a fenced school rooftop over and over doesn't interest me, even if you are playing as Sonsaku Hakufu.
Yeah, nothing wrong w/ the ocassional mindless fan service, but this game looks mediocre as a fighting game, would be nice as 2-D like Guilty Gear or at least Melty Blood.
I know nothing about the anime, what’s w/ them having the names of the 3 Kingdoms generals, supposed to be reincarnates or something, or just sounds cool?
The characters from the show are the reincarnations of the historical Three Kingdoms officers, and they carry special beads which binds them to the destinies of their previous lives.

This game looks really bad. I say this as a Ikki Tousen fan (and as a fan of all Romance of the Three Kingdoms related things in general). Sonaku’s Dragon awakening is supposed to be epic, and exciting. They made it incredibly boring. Also, why such crummy music?
