It’s a known fact that Capcom is not giving up on the Mega Man series. Twenty years and more than five recreations later the Mega Man series is still a cash cow. In the last console cycle the Blue Bomber mainly appeared on the Game Boy Advance (MMZ and Mega Man EXE series) and Playstation 2 (Mega Man X series) with an occasional Gamecube game (Rockman EXE Transmission and I still can’t believe I own it) thrown in the mix. This time around Capcom is polling fans to see where they want to see the next Mega Man game and as of now it looks like nobody wants to play Mega Man on the PC. I love the Mega Man DS games, but (sorry DS Fanboy!) I would like to sit down and play a Mega Man game on a console so go vote for Wii, PS3 or Xbox 360. There are enough portable Mega Man games already!
Capcom has to do another canon or X sequel on the PS3, I want a big jump like Megaman 8 or Megaman X4.
PS3 or 360. Waggle controls would add nothing to Megaman. Megaman has always been about precision and timing, and those are two things the Wiimote would just utterly botch.
PS3 AND 360
A megaman legends 3 would be really cool, since megaman x franchise is already worn out.
If we’re talking a new Legends game, I’d probably say Wii for the IR-based aiming and whatnot. But other than that, well, I don’t really care too much. The series just isn’t what it use to be. Network Transmission was the only last-gen MM game that I really cared for, yet it seemed to be universally hated. I guess my taste differs from everyone else’s when it comes to Mega Man.
well i chose the ds,as in hopes for a remake of the old bomber
im not soo keen on the all new modern add ons,as zero suite and x and the rest…
it would be nice to see a simple megaman game like the nes but having more going for it in style and so on without making megaman into this complicated robot..
Wii however is a good idea,or ps3… i have to say as you pointed out Spencer, that its enough of megaman on handhelds which proves a point..
@EvilAkito
I’m glad I’m not the only one who realized that the Wii’s IR would suit Legends well.
Also, I wouldn’t mind if the Powered Up series continued on DS. I’m sure it wouldn’t look as nice, but I think the DS audience would likely be more receptive than the PSP audience (considering the first title sold so poorly).
I’m glad there are so many Mega Man Legends fans here! EvilAkito and Jeff I like your ideas about using the Wii’s remote to aim Mega Man’s arm. Could be a really neat game to play and Capcom could let you make new weapons each with new waggle motions.
Wii, especially if it’s Legends. Would work perfectly.
Don’t know what the hell you guys are talking about with “botched” controls. Mine works perfectly fine.
As some people said, Wii would be cool for a 3D gam like legends, but i guess most of the true fans want a proper 2D sequel, which would be awesome with HD sprites on Ps3 or 360.
Wii, that way it will sell the most and find the biggest audience. Even if it’s 2D, it would be awesome to see considering the Wii is still more powerful than PS2/GCN.
Plus, Wii CLASSIC CONTROLLER would absolutely rule!
Those dissing the wiimote fail to realize that the wii also has another controller called the CLASSIC CONTROLLER. It is basically an SNES controller with two analog sticks attached. If you consider that pretty bad, then where have you been when they made X for the original SNES?
Are people noticing that when you leave the poll and come back, the votes reset for you? Are they really counting the votes or what? And you can easily vote stuff the poll, since you can go back and vote again. I’m not sure whether to take this seriously.
It would be nice to see Mega man on the X360 for the first time, i would love to play, that…truely would get it for ma Xbox360…
A real remake could be done since it’s been 20th years aniverssary. On one if not the three next gen console available yet. But this remake should be made like Tomb Raider: Aniverssary edition (PS2) or Resident Evil 1 (Game Cube).
Because we all know that the first series never really ended (it has stop at 8 on PSone). We had a pseudo Megaman IX with Rockman & Forte (SNES) that was release on US soil on the (GBA) has Megaman & BASS. But it was not the real 9th Megaman. So a conclusion to the first serie by making a 9th installment to ended the first series and make the transition to the X series should be REEAAALLLYY cool.
So in the end a new MEGAMAN 9 should be done bundled with a real remake of the 8 other one in the same game as “unlockable” or not.
We must going to what Megaman was (used to be) in the first place. Too many variations existed right now and i think as a real fan since the first one that the last ones to go out lately may bring an unwanted end of the Blue Bomber has it is starting to lose it’s original roots (origins).
Please make us proud again of the real Megaman.!
Seeing how they already made most of the X series on the Play Station, it’s obvious that It’s going to be the one to use for that series, Legends for the Wii (Since it has the wiimote and Legends was with Nintendo from start). I don’t now about the 360, since (If my memory is right) It’s never had a MegaMan game on it, as for remakes It’d be the PSP and the DS for new series, as always.
Still, vote for the 360 please (Since I don’t plan on buying the Wii or the PS3, and It’s online capabilities are awesome).
i’d prefer to have megaman x9, x series on the ps3 and/or xbox 360 as well as megaman legends 3 on xbox 360 and/or ps3 as well, that way the game can perform a nice fmv, and graphics for the ps3, and for those who does not have a ps3 can also enjoy the game on the xbox 360, could be good on the wii, depending on how they make the game, lengend 3 would be great on the wii i believe
just make it for all 3. there is still tons of fans that want a sequel. And me personally, i want it for the xbox 360. im not spending 400 or 500 dollars on a ps3
just make magaman for nintendo wii it would kind os like metroid prime 3..don’t you think?… another first person shooter game that will hit the shelfs and sell…that would be something i would like to get right away
THEY SAID IT BEFOR… AND SAY IT AGAIN….WII WILL …WII WILL… ROCK YOU….
use the tailers and the wii remote…and to use some good moves for the wii is to twist and turn it…poll it..push it…and flick it…but..don’t forget to charge it..just for the wii…it just might sell..i tell you.. if capcom could do this…it might be a really good move from capcom…the new maga man…goe’s revelution with dr.willy….and to upgrade you health and fire power…with a all new look and story line to it as well.
I’m definitely a big fan of the Megaman X & Legends series, I love to have a 3rd installment of Megaman Legends for all the systems on PS3, X-Box 360, Nintendo Wii, & Nintendo DS. When Capcom made Megaman X7 it was really sweet to have the game in 2d & 3d. In my opinion I say Megaman X9 would be sweet in the same way to be in 2d & 3d cause it’ll definitely be more fun for me that way.
They really need to make a Mega Man 9, and have all the 8 robot masters available right at the start like they used to. They should also make a Mega Man X9, and keep in 2D. X8 had a 3D look, but played like a 2D game and it kicked ass!
remake ! megaman 1-7 and x1-x3 in 2D for ps2
please make megaman X9 in 2D or 3D for ps2

I know there are a lot of Mega Man Legends fans out there (never got to play them myself), and I’d bet if Capcom did continue it they choose the Wii. I wouldn’t mind playing a 3D MM game on DS either (I’ve become a sucker for the DS graphic powerhouses), but I think Wii is more likely.
