Star Trek: Conquest is real, heading to the PS2 and Wii

We mentioned it as a rumor last week and today Bethesda confirmed they are developing Star Trek: Conquest. However, you don’t get to run around alien planets using the remote as a phaser. Star Trek: Conquest is a budget priced strategy game.

Players take control of Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Dominion, and Breen forces and lead them in a campaign to control the Galaxy, one planet at a time. Build and manage your growing empire in turn-based strategy, fully utilizing the Wii Remote as you select and maneuver your starships throughout the large, galactic map.

There is some motion control added in the Wii version which ups its price to $29.99 instead of the $19.99 sticker for the PS2 release. During the real-time combat sequences you use the nunchuck to control your ship and you aim/fire with the remote.

Wow. That certainly sounds like something that would cost $10 a copy more to implement.
  • A Star Trek game to me sounds like something where you stand at the ship's bridge all day and press buttons and look stern. At least, that's what Star Trek characters always seem to be doing in the show.
  • Hello Hello
This actually sounds pretty cool. I'll check this one out.
