Quite frankly, this is no different than Nintendo's strategy of releasing games on the Virtual Console. That is, publishing the more obscure hits first, and saving the more highly regarded titles for later. SNK is essentially doing the same thing in this situation through Fatal Fury Battle Archives Volume 1, so I'd find it hard to believe if they passed up on releasing their other back catalog of 2D fighters such as the KOF: Orochi Collection, especially if these compilations are selling well in the US.

It may be a long wait, but I have a feeling the result will be worth it in the end. Personally, starting with Art of Fighting Anthology, I'm just glad to see more of SNK's 2D fighters finally find a home on the PS2 stateside after all these years.

i don't understand this. they put out collections of far better games. why not bring those here? the fatal fury games stunk up the scene even back in 92 or 93. how about the last blade collection or the kof comps? how about just samurai showdown 1 & 2? maybe, just maybe, 5 years later after the DC version, the ps2 version of MOTW could come.

Sweet! I'm enjoying Garou MotW, which I imported last month, and for $15 I wouldn't mind owning some of the earlier entries in the series. Hopefully this bodes well for English releases of King of Fighters (like XI or the upcoming XII)

If SNK releases Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 2 in America, I'd pick that up in a instant just for Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, since this particular fighting game has only seen a port to home consoles on the aforementioned compilation. All the same, Volume 1 is a steal for the low budget price of $14.99, so I'm certainly adding this one to my collection.

SNKP is finally releasing games in a steady pace now. It took them awhile, but at least they're showing that they're trying.
If they keep it up I'll have more to look forward to in the Fall.
