Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 uncut for the USA

Even though Racjin worked on the game instead of Cavia, Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 shares plenty in common with its predecessor. You play as Naruto who punch, kicks, and rasengans his way through puppets with the same flip kick combo. This time the village hidden in the leaves is under attack from the  Shirogane Clan who is collecting spirit orbs to animate the puppet who will end all puppets. The game begins with Kankuro running into Naruto who explains the plot and reveals his village already lost the spirit orb. Yeah, that’s right Naruto and the Sand siblings are friends in Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 just like in the Japanese version of the game.

When Namco Bandai brought Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles out last year they cut a lot out of it. All the animated introduction scenes with Tsunade explaining the missions were replaced by a bland menu. Bosses had to be switched around too. Kabuto was introduced into the game to replace Kisame. However, Naruto’s signature move, the rasengan snuck into the game under a new name.

Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 is set one whole arc in the future of the US timeline, but after playing it a few hours I haven’t noticed any major cuts. The sand ninja wear their new outfits, Naruto transforms into the one-tailed Kyuubi, and Sakura has the effects of Tsunade’s training. However, the plot doesn’t explain any of these incongruities or Sasuke’s absence. Because Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 is set in an “alternate timeline” Namco Bandai was allowed to get away with this. Fans should be pleased to know they are getting Naruto: Konoha Spirits without any watering down.

This is just great. It seems Namdai listened to all my complaints. They are Sega(Bleach Wii reference) level now….

Wait…… That is like saying a Hobo just reached the level of a diseased rat
2.

I kid I kid :p

Now if only the rumors of the One Piece Wii game was confirmed (I’ll post it below just for fun)

(Prepare for another drunk post with spoilers that I won’t remember tomorrow)

stolen from various posts(Gamespot/Gamefaqs)

-Deepdiscount has a date for it.

http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewproduct.htm?productId=16890816
It is more specific than any other site has.
Though it can be wrong, with all the things I have purchased form there, the date has always been right

And maybe uncut.
I mean that one recent game “dub” had the Skypiea arc in it (the “dub” was not even done with Arabasta) with some things from Water 7 and the Davy fight thing.

The game does have some brief cutscenes from the story, but the game is mostly original ain’t it?

-Reasons why it may come out and may be possibly uncut

Luffy’s new VA saying a line from the beginning of a game that is unspecified

Luffy’s new outfit in the Wii game has huge pockets. Then again, he said the same thing when on the Rocketman heading to Eneis Lobby. But this still hints that the Wii game may come out soon since they may have recorded for it

Still though, this is good news.

Apperently, now this is only hearsay from someone, but Ussop’s new voice mentioned being Sogeking in a game.

Since the Naruto game is set alternately in a timeline and is uncut, maybe Unlimited Adventure will be too, and thus be uncut

Sorry for the rant. Red Bull wings, the internet, and a losing streak in Wii Play to everyone really make my blood boil to talk to people about off topic things

1 question about OTK Naruto. Does the shroud do anything? I mean, do the arms extent to attack, or is it just the shroud just being there. Cause if it has no special properties, maybe they figured it wouldn’t be a spoiler and dub fans would assume it is just a fancy Nine-tailed mode

ryne11 Says:

One last thing. Did they change the opening in the NA release? I saw a video of the JPN version and it sounded like Naruto was singing and rapping.

Bleh. I kinda hope they did.

papermoonshine Says:

I hope they leave the japanese opening in. I imported this when it came out and was surprised that the JP VA did the vocals for the opening. It was kind of a neat thing but I doubt they’ll leave it in. As anything that gets brought stateside always has to get bastardized.

Spencer Says:

@ryne11 / papermoonshine - heh I skipped through the opening so I watched it again and it is different. No rapping, a few different cuts.

RiceBoi Says:

Heh, I’m not going anywhere near this unless they leave the original Japanese voices in. I’ve already got the import version anyway.

BlueMako Says:

“and dub fans would assume it is just a fancy Nine-tailed mode”
Isn’t that basically what it *is* to begin with?

ryne11 Says:

OTK is a little more complex than generic power up

OTKKyuubi Says:

I went into playing the Naruto games because I watched the Narutimate Hero 3 trailer. That’s how I came to love the show.I pray they add a Japanese voice option and leave the entire thing uncut because I don’t want to see something that I cherish be mistreated and demeaned by having only one voice for it. When Ultimate Ninja 3 comes out to the US for PS2 I pray that they leave the Japanese voices in and add an option so that you can play as the voices, because then it would prove to be an elite the way it’s supposed to be. So that it can truly be set apart from the previous two.I know that they extra space in the disc they don’t have to add subtitles because I mean pretty much 75% of the entire population of Naruto fans watches the subs and dubs. The subtitles aren’t really necessary because of the fact many of them would already understand what the characters are saying. But they can add them if they want to.

I mean when you localize something its mainly for one culture with one language right but they should add a Japanese voice option because they don’t have one but many multicultural and ethnic groups. They shouldn’t have just one option but two one English and one Japanese. Not only I but many of us want to see Ultimate Ninja 3 when it comes to the US on the PS2 with this option because most of us watch the sub.If you add this option then both watchers will be satisfied because we all share one thing we love Naruto. They need to utilize the time that they have now to add this option and to work on the game otherwise they’re really are going to get some bad PR from other fans.

ryne11 Says:

Sub watchers are a huge minority. Maybe on the internet there are those that watch both, but overall most of the fans are dub exclusive

I don’t know where you are getting this 75% figure, unless you are just basing it with the people who are online

Pichi Says:

Indeed, there are alot more dub watchers, especially since its been on TV.
