Stranglehold no longer region locked

sholdrf.jpgAfter cries on Midway’s official boards the company had a change of heart and decided to release the game without region coding. This means if you’re in Europe, Asia or wherever you can import the limited edition version of the game, which comes with the Blu-ray movie Hardboiled on the disc.

I’m glad Midway went the region free route. I wouldn’t want Stranglehold to be a precedent for region locked Playstation 3 games or (gasp) region locked portable games. Also something else to note is there are a significant amount of gamers who want their software without region locks. Maybe not enough to sway for a region free Wii, but there are enough voices to make Midway care.

I’d love to see region free games, I hate being limited to the DS and PSP for getting my import fix. I just don’t have the dough to buy 2nd consoles for import games.

This is a HUGE plus for the PS3 in my book

Does this mean the movie is RC-free as well?
