Sonnori has made a pretty penny by remaking Astonishia Story on to the GP32 and the PSP. Thanks to Ubisoft in the West and Compile Heart in the East the rest of the world got to experience Astonishia Story. Ten years after the original release Astonishia Story is getting a sequel. Guess where it’s coming? Ntreev Soft who is best known for Pangya is acting as the publisher for the PSP follow up.
I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again, South Korea is a hub for PSP development. Now which US publisher is going to take a stab at localizing Astonishia Story 2 (Ubisoft seems likely) and who is going to bring DJ Max Portable to the rest of the world?
@jeffx - You know I almost didn’t post this up because I can’t read hangul. But I decided to give it a go after doing some detective work (i.e. matching characters) confirming that this is indeed a sequel. I’ll try my best to dig up more on it though!
I actually liked the first one, kinda, it was way too short though (maybe 13 hours?). And I don’t think it sold all that well, given that Kmart was selling it for $10 about 8 months after it came out…so I kinda doubt we’ll see the sequel picked up by Ubisoft (or anyone else).
