If you like Tempest and occasionally stare at WinAmp visualizations then check out Space Giraffe from Llamasoft when it comes out on Wednesday. The Xbox Live Arcade game has a hundred levels where you shoot glowing enemies and an unlockable bonus mode after you complete them. It's hard to resist since it's only 400 Microsoft Points ($5).

The other game this week is Street Trace: NYC, a hoverboard racing game set in the futuristic ruins of New York City. During races you can take advantage of grind rails and the plasma trail from another player’s board to gain a speed boost. Winning races earn you cash, which can be used to upgrade the hoverboard by boosting the shields, improving the engine or purchasing new weapons. Up to four players can try out their boards against other players locally and up to eight players can race online through Xbox Live Arcade in Street Trace: NYC. Street Trace: NYC rings in at 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
