Square-Enix sent over an e-mail to remind me that their official merchandise store is opening in a couple of hours. At 6PM PST you can buy Final Fantasy XII Play Arts and figures of summoned monsters (Knights of the Round will set you back $24.99). There are some in store exclusives too like this five pack of Final Fantasy III Trading Arts for $17.99 and a Kingdom Hearts II statue of Sora’s Limit form that was only in Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix Plus. The e-mail also mentioned that the Final Fantasy Tactics Trading Arts are coming to America in a four pack with: Ramza, Agrias, Delita and Ovelia for $24.99 this November. It looks like the Sky Pirate Balthier figure is going to be for Japan only.

Can’t wait. I wonder if Square-Enix will undertake the effort to localize other company goods, much like their publishing of Tri-Ace or Level 5 games. Not getting my hopes up, but it’d be nice to see a larger portion of goodies make their way from Japan to the ‘States.

That would be nice, but that also might be some hopeful wishing. I think we should be happy that SQUAURE realizes there is a market for these things.

The president of Square-enix must have been on the toilet, and got a great idea.

“Lets sell the Americans they same crap we have in Japan!”
