Eco-centric adventure game coming from Germany

Daedalic Entertainment has an environmentally friendly twist in A New Beginning. You play as Bent Svensson, a scientist who has to save the world by designing an alternative energy source. Accompanying Bent is Fay, a girl sent from the future to stop an environmental disaster. The plot may not be the most gripping tale on paper, but I like how Daedalic Entertainment is trying to break new grounds. Instead of fighting aliens or orcs you have to solve Mother Earth’s problems.

 

A New Beginning is being developed for the Nintendo DS, Wii and PC. I doubt each version will have a different story, but it’s likely the puzzle controls will differ on the Wii versus the PC. Daedalic Entertainment still has plenty of time to figure out what motions they are going to use. A New Beginning isn’t scheduled to come out until at Q4… Q4 2008.
