Inazuma Eleven, Level 5’s new DS project

l5soccer.jpgRemember that top secret project Level 5 was working on for the DS? Surprise, it’s a soccer RPG. Inazuma Eleven has middle school kids battle rival schools in touch screen soccer matches. When you’re not in the middle of a tournament you have a chance to interact with a 1,000 different characters that can join your team. It is up to the player to compile a dream team that can be used in wireless battles.

Level 5 has a unique concept for an RPG. I wonder how people will react to it and if any company will take a risk to localize it in North America where football is synonymous with the NFL.

Sounds like a winning combination to me!

Especially if it works anywhere near Enix’s Nippon Daihyou Team no Kantoku Ninarou! Sekaihatsu Soccer RPG for the Saturn.

So..is it kinda like Captain Tsubasa, do you think? I’ve never been able to find one of those translated and have been half curious about it for sometime.

Ryu Kazama Says:

I’m not that much into football(soccer) but this sure as heck needs to come to Europe! Sounds pretty interesting to me. Can’t stand the managing games but this sounds different.

The Doctor Says:

Sounds good. This is the most original idea for an RPG I’ve heard in a while, which is in itself a good thing.

Louise Says:

This reminds me of the Mario golf rpg on the GBA. Except with soccer. But knowing Level 5, this will probably look completely awesome.

It’d be better if it followed Kunio and Rikki from River City Ransom.

To me futbol is gaining popularity here in the U.S.A thanks to Beckhams magical legs. Anyways, this sounds really interesting for two reasons.

ORIGNAL RPG!

An awesome company making this original game.

Cheers mate!

Yeah Jeremy, Captain Tsubasa, I almost forgot about those, it’s been years since I’ve played those on the Famicom, the shooting and sweeping cutscenes were amazing back then. I’m curious to see what kind of soccer RPG they’re going to make.

Aoshi00 Says:

BTW, I think it’s “Inazuma” as in Lightning. I hope it wouldn’t have lame stylus control like Mario Hoops 3 on 3 though..
