Earlier today we discovered the box art for The Monkey King: The Legend Begins. Now Wired news confirmed with UFO Interactive that the game is coming out along with Kiki Kai World! You might remember a little Super Nintendo game starring a Raccoon and a Shrine maiden called Pocky & Rocky. In Japan the series was known as Kiki KaiKai and a PS2 remake was originally in development. Kiki Kai World isn’t the same game. Due to licensing issues Kiki Kai World is a “spiritual successor” due to come out in North America in November for the PS2 and the Wii in early ’08. What an awesome surprise!
Wow! And to think I was doubtful when Siliconera listed the earlier article! Certainly a situation I’m glad to be mistaken… one thing though? Licensing issues? TAITO should be delighted that someone is to continue thier series!
Kiki Kaikai was one of my favorites. I think the last outing was on the GBA by Natsume right? That game was pretty horrible I traded it in. I’m looking forward to Kiki Kai World.
I really adored Pocky and Rocky when I was younger, though it was one of the more tougher games I’ve played in my life. If they can make a decent game out of this, then I’d definitely be interested. Assuming of course if it gets an European release that is.
id buy this if it came to europe, but i doubt it…
i really liked pocky and rocky when i tried it :)
gonna buy the wii version, maybe the ps2 version too.
I just don’t get it why not releasing both at once.

yessssssssssss. loved the SNES games. I gotta admit I’m wary of UFO though. All these Raiden III delays… still a sour taste in my mouth. I’m looking forward to them gaining some stability/credibility with these upcoming releases!
