Slim PSP bundle pack now in stores

Slim PSP bundle pack now in stores imagesSony sent over an e-mail to announce that the Ice Silver PSP-2000 bundle package is available in North America. For $200 you get a slim PSP (read: lighter and has video out), a copy of Daxter, the Family Guy Freakin’ Sweet Collection (contains five episodes) on UMD and 1 GB memory stick. Not a bad deal at all considering that a standard PSP rang up for $250 at launch. Sure you got headphones with it, but I would much rather have the 1GB memory stick. The only thing the package is missing is the AV video cable, which must be purchased separately.

On October 9, Sony is releasing the Star Wars Battlefront bundle with an image of Darth Vader silk-screened on a ceramic white PSP and a copy of Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron. Also next week Japan gets the limited edition Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII bundle. Pick your flavor?

Update: It appears that a number of physical retailers like Best Buy and Circuit City have them in stock. If you are planning on getting the bundle pack your best bet is to hit Target up. They are selling the Daxter bundle for $169.99, the same price as the standalone slim PSP which comes out sometime later this month.

  • Did all you bloggers get some kind of PR release, because it clearly isn't in retail stores till sept 10th according to retailer websites.
  • Yeah Sony sent over an e-mail earlier, but it looks like you have a point! Retailers have mixed dates for the Slim PSP bundle at the moment. Hmm... this requires a little more digging.
  • When are they going to sell the stand-alone PSP slims?
  • I love the re-design but I'm waiting for the Star Wars edition to upgrade... what can I say... I'm a sucker for Darth Vader :)

If this bundle really goes on sale by 9/10, I would really like to pick it up from Target to play Crisis Core or Jeanne d'Arc. It's really a shame Sony isn't including a basic video out cable, at least an RCA one. But then I wonder how hood will games and movies look on the big screen.
  • Definetly a great deal. I personally would rather see a bundle with Jean Darc. I'd grab that in a flash. ^_^

Although they could use this opportunity to plug this to the non gamers and go for some of the DS market. Games like these:

    Would be great choices.
