Atlus sent over a little reminder that Growlanser: Heritage of War is out in stores. The $50 limited edition comes bundled with goodies like a multimedia DVD, pins, cards, a keychain and an art book. Oh yeah there’s an enhanced version of Growlanser V in there too with a harder difficulty level. Remember, Growlanser: Heritage of War is only getting a single print run. So if you want it buy it before other collectors do and prices skyrocket on eBay.
The only review I’ve seen for this game so far is RPGFan giving it a 65, and they almost never give below an 80.
I’m passing on this one. At first, I was pulled in by the limited first print run. But then I looked at my vopy og Growlanser Generatiosn from Working Designs. I remembered how much I wasn’t into those game and I decided to let Atlus’ Growlanser go.
How many copies are being printed anyway? If it’s like 50,000, and the game isn’t that good, it won’t skyrocket in value too much. If it’s more like 10,000, maybe it will.
Thanks for the reminder. I totally forgot that today was the release date.
Not that I’m complaining or anything, but they were a tad excessive with the bonus goodies. The artbook was a nice addition since Urushihara’s artwork is a big selling point for the series, but the keychain, pins, 3-D cards, and that media DVD are really just going to sit in the box and never get touched. But oh well. Free is free.

Psssh, like Atlus does anything other than a single print run, ever. Well, aside from Persona 2 a couple of years back.
Anyone know if it matters if you play these games out of order? I’ve never touched a Growlanser before and SRPG’s generally demand a lot of attention to each title in a series…
