Meet Hilde, Soul Calibur IVs new star images

While I was at Namco Bandai’s headquarters yesterday the development team spoke about Hilde, one of the new characters. One of the funny things they mentioned was that they wanted to make a “sexy” female character who was fully clothed so they thought up the concept of encasing Hilde in armor. Promptly, someone asked if Hilde would have “destructible armor” and the development team responded that they were considering it, but if they did that Hilde would look like the rest of the female characters with skimpy clothes.

Besides looking different Hilde has a slightly different control set up. She wields two weapons: a long range spear and a short dagger. When players press the A button on the Xbox 360 pad she uses her short sword. Pressing the B button makes her swing the spear. The team mentioned that Hilde’s button set up makes her a character for “intermediate to advanced players”.

Definitely a great looking character considering nearly all new characters after Soul Calibur on Dreamcast looked terrible(and existing characters looking much worse).

Not really into the armour...if she just wore normal clothes, that would have been neat-o. What is neat-o is her weapon set up. Sounds pretty cool. Now, where is Hwang? Come speak to me when you reveal him...

I don't think people just wore jeans and a t-shirt in that time period that the game takes place...

i dont think women fought dressed up as ivy, she would be "purified" in seconds..
this game just plays too much on sex appeal,really turns me off how they have to exaggerate so much,the gameplay might be solid but i dont want these spesific body parts glued into the screen,unecessary...

Already my favourite char besides the crazy ring girl. I dont know what others are complaining about. Ok its weÃrd that female agile characters (specially taki) has big chests. I liked the destructible armor idea for.. should I say realism? But it would still be strange if not same were for the rest of the chars.
