Shikigami no Shiro III, Guilty Gear II confirmed for North AmericaI met with Arc System Works today and we started to iron out their plans for the future. This translated to me probing if X title is coming to North America until we squared away their entire line up. The scoop is Guilty Gear II: Overture and Shikigami no Shiro III are leaving Japan. However, Arc System Works only has plans to release the Xbox 360 version of Shikigami no Shiro III. They are still evaluating the Wii version. When I asked about Apathy: Narugami Gakuen Toshi Densetsu Tantei Kyoku, Adventure Flight Puchi Copter and Kunio-Kun Dodge Ball Bu I was told it was "too early" to make any calls about localization since those games aren't out in Japan yet.

    Why would they NOT release it on the Wii? There haven’t been any “hardcore” games on that console since… well since forever! That’s what it needs right now.

    Personally, I’m just happy that ever since Aksys took over for distribution, GG has been seeing a lot more US action. With the old distributor, I have to wonder if we would have seen GG2 stateside.

    I think it would be a mistake if Arc System Works didn’t release Shikigami no Shiro III on the Wii as well as the 360 in North America. A multiplatform release will only yield more sales, which equal more profit.

    With the Shikigami no Shiro series being relatively unknown in the States, hopefully Arc has plans to release the game at a budget price when they ship it to retail stores across the globe. Otherwise, I imagine the general public may simply glance over the title without even giving it a second look, as we’ve seen witnessed with Senko no Ronde.
