Microsoft rolled out the first piece of Blue Dragon downloadable content and it’s free to pick up. Grab the Ultra Hard Mod to play Blue Dragon again with New Game Plus then take on hard mode which has double the difficulty. For gamers who really want a challenge there is the impossible game mode, which is designed for characters level 50 and up.
There is more downloadable content coming in the next few months. The second pack has bonus items and the third has a random dungeon creator.

Difficulty is only fun if there are actual useful strategic options besides “Do a bunch of damage” and “Heal”.
It’s fun in Megaten games because buffers and debuffers are stackable and permanent, status effects are actually useful, and the press turn system mixes things up.
Blue Dragon is like an SNES RPG except with the graphics and slow battle speed of more recent games. All you can really do that’s useful is damage the enemy and heal. All boosting the enemy stats would do is force you to level grind a lot.
