A pre-emptive ode to… Chaos Wars?

By Spencer . October 2, 2007 . 12:14pm

O3 Entertainment hasn’t even officially announced Chaos Wars, although odds are good it’s coming out in English, and it’s getting buzz. I particularly like SelectButton’s thread on the whole issue where the release is summed up as “the single most brass-balls type moment in the history of gaming”. The whole issue is summed up nicely explaining how obscure the characters are (maybe not for the enlightened Siliconera crowd, but ask Joe Gamer what Spectral Souls is and see what he says), licensing issues and how the game is designed to appeal to a select fans of a niche genre. Is this going to be O3’s shining moment in their catalog? Or will this project fall apart like Radio Allergy on the Gamecube?

It’s possible that when Idea Factory licensed the characters from the other companies for the game, they got the world wide rights. Thus simplifying the licensing scheme for O3.
