Another good strategy for the rooms that can't move is to use the Gig Edict "Hold Hands" while next to them -- they'll follow you when you move. Or I used it on the wrong person.

And make sure you watch the "Match" indicator when you choose to attack (two skulls, one skull, neutral, heart, two hearts). These seem to be based on the leaders of each group and they're relative strength in strategy. IE using a Pyremage against a Bareknuckle gets you two hearts, since they are weak against magic, strongly moving the battle in your favor. So, when doing Recon, also see what's predominantly on the field. A bunch of heavy Knights? Turn your Pyremages into leaders and use their Tactic to annihilate the enemy fairly quickly.
