I actually ended up buying the game at my friend's hardcore gaming store in South Jersey. I really was expecting to buy the game at the event, but I was just too overwhelmed and confused by all the stuff that was going on. To be honest, I still haven't played it. I'll get to it whenever I get the chance, whenever that is... My thoughts on Digital Life will be up soon, guys.

Wow dude, you kind of summed up the experience for me hahaha only I refused to buy the game until I found myself sick at home with nothing better to do and a terrible, terrible review of Halo 3 I was expected to post to the site. Eventually I gave in, purchased Halo 3 and played through it in the hope of going back through my colleagues review to understand what the hell he was talking about.

Never had I completed any Halo campaign before (always been a PlayStation owner) and after the first mission, I logged online to check out the back story, which I found in ready supply (damn, novels too?). After completing Halo 3 in less than a day, there wasn't a damn thing I understood or enjoyed about the whole experience.

It felt slow, unremarkable, though well paced and the story felt like nothing more than pulp fiction, which I realised, it is. The only epic thing about Halo is that IT IS BIG. Big franchise, big marketing budget, big community but not necessarily great or astonishing.

For me the launch was a non-event. People either GET Halo or NOT GET Halo apparently, well I slot into category two. But what is it that people GET about the Halo franchise? That's what I keep asking myself and when it comes down to it, it'd have to be the online presence. There's always someone to play with, there's plenty of competition, there is a ranking system, even if the game itself isn't excellent.

Anyway, this has been random rambling. Nice sign board ... looking forward to your second entry!

Oh, and have you played Halo 3 yet? haha
