I just got an e-mail in from Agetec with a release date for Fire Pro Wrestling Returns, its November 13th release date is less than a month away. Also the price is a shocker at a mere $15 (read: cheaper than a Greatest Hits title).
The US release is way less than the price Japan had to pay for the game a few years ago and after reading the article about niche publishers (thanks Simon) I wonder if Agetec is going to make any money from the project. If you’re planning on picking this up make sure to avoid Gamestop. They have Fire Pro Wrestling Returns inked in at $19.99.
I’d say it depends on how they reach the core audience, and what amount of money they’ve spent on localization. Fire Pro is big in the right circles, so why not?
I’m considering buying an US PS2 and this game for my brother, since he’s such a freak. He’s played two GBAs to bits…

Ugh. 1up is painful on dialup. 5 minutes to load 2 paragraphs of text.
I think this is more a budget title (Like say, Ford Racing or Tokyo Xtreme Racer), than niche (like say Raw Danger or that Kissing Game from Natsume). If they could get this into Wal-mart, they could sell 100s of thousands of copies. I mean, it is Wrestling.
