The physics are great, and it is fun to play (which should be the most important consideration in a sports game). If you're still on the fence about buying it, this one deserves at least a rental. You definitely can't judge sports games by the box cover. Some look great but don't play well. This one looks good (the anime-style players have grown on me), and it is so much fun. And there's so much depth. Just wait until you get into the player customizations / creation -- there's a lot of factors that determines how well they play. You gain experience points in games and in practice throughout the season to level up your players. It lasts 10 seasons and beats any other "dynasty" type mode I've played in baseball games.
