Disgaea 3 slated for January 2008

Nippon Ichi is almost done with Disgaea 3. In Japan it’s coming out on January 31, 2008 (?!). The story features Mao an honor student who never shows up to class and Raspberyl, Mao’s troublemaking friend who does all her homework. Things are topsy-turvy in the underworld!

Gameplay-wise there are a lot more throwing options in combat, monster fusions and 3D puzzles with Geo Blocks. Disgaea 3 also adds in a few new classes like the female samurai and the male Souryo. I'm excited about the new tower attack pictured above. Something about swinging a tower of your allies seems so wrong… yet so devilishly right.

Update: Game|Watch has changed the release date from Disgaea 3 from January 31, 2008 to TBD. The date could have been a leak or it could have been a mistake.

Still get a kick out of Raspberyl! I have a feeling she'll be my favorite new character in the game.

Damn it. I have to start considering buying a PS3 now.

Why is Disgaea 3 on PS3 anyway? It doesn't use any of it's technology that PS2 doesn't have. All Nippon Ichi is accomplishing putting it on PS3 instead of PS2 is sabotaging their own sales. It's like not only do they want to cater only to a small niche audience, they want only a small percentage of that niche audience even to be able to play it.

The whole world has got a point why disgaea 3 should not be on the F###ing PS3 I hate the ps3 it's a wast of money I mean come on i work a minimal wage job i cant aford a ps3 and if i worked hard enuf to get one I will be working so much there will be no time what so ever to play it because if any fan know you got to put a got part of your life in to getting laharl lvl 9999... I know its a wast of time reaching lvl 9999 but i had a lots of fun doing it and i'll never regret it

Like every other disgaea fan, im appaled by the fact thats it's going on the ps3, I mean c'mon, who wants to dish out like $400-$600 for a ps3?!?!? THIS may ruin disgaea's fanbase and gamers >: ( I mean whats the advantage of only releasing it on the ps3... THERE IS NONE!
