Solid Snake setback, Metal Gear Solid 4 delayed

It has barely been a month since Konami announced a Q1 2008 target for Metal Gear Solid 4, but don’t expect to be hiding in barrels then. Metal Gear Solid 4 is now targeted for Q2 2008 or in English the game has been delayed for a few months. Why?

“Konami has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide.”

Got it. I’m not too disheartened by the delay because I would rather have a polished product than a rushed one. However, this can’t be good news for Sony and holiday Playstation 3 sales. Also, Konami did not mention Metal Gear Online, which was supposed to ship around the same time as Metal Gear Solid 4. Perhaps, they are staggering the release of the two games too?
