Dragon Quest IV: Journey of the revised commercial

While North America is just getting start with Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker, Japan gets the DS remake of Dragon Quest IV this month. Square-Enix is going to let this fly under the radar. They already have a TV commercial airing in Japan and it’s retrotastic. In the late 80’s early 90’s a fair number of Japanese TV ads had live actors instead of just montages of video game footage. The Dragon Quest IV DS ad pays homage to this with a caravan of cosplay heroes.

How does it stack up to the original commercials? You decide! The Famicom and PS1 television spots are past the break.

I like the second one best because it ends with a big fat Enix logo.
