Stephen D. sent over tip (thanks!!) letting us know an anime based on Persona 3 is coming out in January next year. Make that very likely coming out. A post over at Moonphase has a flier announcing Persona -trinity soul-, which takes place ten years after the events of Persona 3. A-1 pictures who makes Zenmai Zamurai is supposedly producing the series, but it isn’t listed on their official page. The official website for Persona -trinity soul– isn’t working either, but a quick whois report shows that Aniplex owns the domain name. It looks like this is an early leak and we will be hearing more about Persona -trinity soul- in future!
Edit: Cleaned up the title of the series. It's not Persona 3 -trinity soul-, it's just Persona -trinity soul- minus the "3".
This is awesome news! I’m sure that the Fansubbing community will be all over this when it releases in Japan!
Super hot. Looking forward to the fansubs.
Spencer, whatever happened to your halloween costume???
Wow, this news is made of win and makes my nerdy pants tight.
@jeffx - funny story, I was actually going to be Jack Skellington… I had the costume in hand ready to go and then no one wanted to dress up with me for the party. So I gave up on the concept of dressing up this year.
I’m not getting my hopes up. I haven’t seen any video game based anime series that were even remotely watchable. Did anyone see Xenosaga? Yikes. I realize this takes place after the game, but that doesn’t make me any more hopeful.
Gungrave was a retty good video game based anime series. This Persona anime can be good too if it’s done right.
We can only hope it doesn’t turn out like the DMC anime [face_bleh]

But, if its ten years after the events of the original… what will happen to the characters we all love?!
