I loved the story of FFTA! It made me cry at the end! It's actually my favorite game of all time. FFT was okay, but way too many political characters with long names, like FFXII; felt more like an anti-church philosophy essay than a fantasy story. FFTA's lightheartedness was refreshing.

The lack of multiplayer makes me sad. At least the American version will have stylus support.

I can't wait for this to come to the US. 8D I got FFTA when I was probably eight, nine, or ten, and loved it! Now it's been like six or seven years. x] It's been a good while, and I still play that game all the time on my DS. I'm really exicted. <333 My favorite part of the game was getting really cool weapons and jobs, so the new jobs will be great for me. x] I agree about the Wi-fi, and I think that it would have been a great addition, but I don't really think it will ruin the game TOO much. x] The judges didn't bother me THAT bad, only when I forgot to save after getting to into the game and then Marche got a Red Card for Copycat or something, which happened to me a lot. ._. great review! :D

Quite disappointed about the no Wi-Fi support thing. If such a game like FFTA2 had Wi-Fi to battle other clans all over the world, all the negative parts like the story, the judge and all the other stuff you guys complain about will not even exist. You would be playing online most of the time and having a lot of fun.

Awesome!!!

@all the fft guys:

stop make comparisons between FFT and FFTA series... they share only the name and nothing more... if you got deceived by FFTA story, gameplay or anything else you only got to blame yourself cuz i dont remember square ever talked about a sequel or a game as good as FFT. FFTA belong to the Ivalice Alliance project. I'm a FFT fan but still i was fully satisfied with FFTA as well and from what we know i'm pretty sure FFTA2 also will satisfy me :D

So far sounds good, expect two things. Lack of WiFi support is quite disappointing for a high production DS-quality game, but its understandable. Now, no stylus support? That's not forgivable for a DS STG game to me. I love FFTA and was hoping to use the stylus for the better control, and use the WiFi feature to play with my buddies on the other side of the earth. I really hope this could be justified for the English version release. Sometimes I just wish they can save some ad money towards game quality.

I'm STILL playing FFT for the PSP. Then I've got Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness. This could a pick up for DS, since I've haven't played it awhile. The last game I bought was Bleach 2nd DS (which is awesome!). Still need to get all those characters...

@ Louise

Well you can always import it :p It's not like you'd really be missing out much on the story department, but I wouldn't put it past me if Square-Enix did add some newer features to the U.S. version. After all, look at FFT: WotL and FFXII: Revenant Wings.

@ Dr Slump

To its credit, though, FFTA was really all about missions and job customization, something FFTA2 improves on a lot. I understand that story is important now as much as gameplay, but sometimes it's good to just lose yourself in a game (or any activity) without really having a purpose.

@ Tex

You could play FFTA on GBA to get an idea of how FFTA2 functions. As for a game on the DS that's close to it, I don't think there's one.

When will this game be available in the US? Is there a game on the DS that is close to it so I can play it before A2 releases?

Sounds good, I am disappointed about the lack of multi-player myself but all is well. Besides I kind of liked having a light-hearted story that didn't fry my brain from over-load. Don't get me wrong, the original FFT is one of my favorite games of all time. Which reminds me that I need to pick up the PSP version soon so that I'll actually have a copy.
