Without delving into too much some events happen pre-Persona 3 Playstation 2 and you get to play through the events in Aigis: The First Mission. Decent looking 3D graphics, a soul point battle system and cameos from characters in the PS2 game (see left picture) for a mere 525 yen ($4.50). It’s a shame that companies aren’t interested in localizing cell phone games because there is some good stuff out there.

who plays these? Square did the same to Parasite Eve 3.

why not DS and Mobile phone cross platform games?

Spencer Says:

@Pedro Silva - In Japan it’s not uncommon to spend lots of time on the train and you don’t always have a handheld with you. However, people always carry their phones with them, which makes it a pretty good market. Plus cell phone games don’t cost as much to develop so you’ve got a good profit margin too.

Pedro Silva Says:

@ Spencer - I understand that, but I look at this and think “Hell, I’ll never be able to play this” not because I don’t want to… but because of the platform it’s on.

DS and Cellphones are really similar, both use ARM CPU architecture and… well, Square Enix is porting a Cellphone game into the DS now and Id Software did the same with Orcs and Elves recently… Oh… and Contra 4 was ported/adapted from DS to Cellphones.

I really think these games should go multiplatform to DS; why not start making them for both platforms from the ground?
