Xenogears co-creator pens two more RPGs

ssaga.jpgYou may not recognize Soraya Saga's name, but she played an integral role in the whole Xeno-series. Before Monolith Soft matriculated she was the co-writer and a concept artist for Xenogears. Then she moved on to co-writing the script for Xenosaga Episode I and did work on Xenosaga Episode II. Afterwards she faded away for a bit, but she’s back with two RPGs.

One script is completed and the story she co-wrote should see the light of day in 2008. Her other game is in pre-production. If you’re a Xenosaga fan don’t get your hopes up that one of these unannounced titles is Xenosaga Episode 4. Namco Bandai pulled the plug on the series and Soraya Saga stopped contributing to the Xenosaga after Episode II.

I’m excited anyways, I wonder what games she has in store for us…keep us updated!

Interesting, I do love Xenosaga’s story telling, so I’ll look forward to her work!

Just make sure we don’t get a repeat of XS disc 2!

It would still be nice to see a version of Xenogears that didn’t get crippled by budget, development time, and a launch coinciding with Final Fantasy VIII. Oh well.

Square really dropped the ball on this woman back then, but hopefully these new scripts will show them what they missed out on.

SS and her husband Tetsuya Takahashi (co-author of Xenogears) are fantastic & so talented. I can’t wait to see the game they bring out…on the Wii. If it’s PS2 i think i’ll die! Xbox360 is even better.

is she working for Monolithsoft though?

If she is what I think she is… wasn’t she something to monoliths founder (and 4% owner)? like… wife?

@Pedro Silva – Yes, she is Tetsuya Takahashi, the founder of Monolith Soft’s wife. While it seems likely her work is going to be for Monolith Soft she didn’t have any involvement in Xenosaga Ep. III. So all bets are off? But I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see her name appear in the credits of Soma Bringer.
