Shin-Chan cashes out with a GBA to DS port

Three years ago Banpresto released a Shin-Chan game ripe with movie parodies. Crayon Shin-Chan: Arashi wo Yobu Cinema Land no Daibouken is a basic platformer where you take Shin through an action bastard themed first stage and jump on enemies. Banpresto is digging this up and shoveling it into Crayon Shin-Chan: Arashi wo Yobu Cinema Land Kachinko Gachinko Daikatsugeki, which is set to come out in March 2008. The revised version adds in three new stages and a tiny bit of touch screen control. Considering it is being sold as a full price DS game, the game is light on add-on content.

Hmm… I wonder if Banpresto is re-releasing this because they are planning to bring it to North America. Shin-Chan is resonably popular on adult swim and a US release would explain why so little is being added into the DS version.

I can’t wait for this game. I love the show and I can only hope they bring the Americanization writing staff on board to work with the game as well.

The GBA game actually got a Europe-only Spanish release of all things. It’s pretty fun. If it gets released stateside it would probably sell well.
