Club Nintendo gives platinum members a Super Famicom Classic Controller

By Spencer . November 16, 2007 . 1:33am

famicomc.jpgIf you put 400 Club Nintendo points in your account between October 1, 2006 and September 30, 2007 you’re part of the Platinum member club and entitled to a special gift. This year you can choose to receive a Wii compatible Super Famicom Classic Controller or the two disc Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack. Personally, I would go with the Classic Controller because that is only going to be given out to Club Nintendo members. The Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack will be added to the Club Nintendo store at a later date.

very very cool, I will get that. I wonder how many points I actually have in my account.

  • tt

and who would want that soundtrack? When I play SMG I feel like I am in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. That is my only complaint about the game.

  • Josh

And I could never have gotten there if it wasn’t for you Spencer.

  • @tt – I’m wondering the same thing. I hope you get and enjoy your controller

@Josh – hahaha! Thanks for helping me get Game & Watch! Enjoy your classic controller :)

  • Mr. Mee

ooh I want one, how would I get one of those memberships? Probably a japanese only site.

  • the_importer

    OK, now I’m fucking jealous.

  • Oh my lord I need this!!!!

Curious here too, how does one become a member of the Nintendo club. I wasn’t crazy about the sound activated Power ranger game, but I want this controller!

  • Aoshi00

Wonder if they would be kind enough just to just release it to the public as another peripheral, that would further help VC sales wouldn’t it.

“Wonder if they would be kind enough just to just release it to the public as another peripheral, that would further help VC sales wouldn’t it.”

My thoughts too… why wouldn’t they? Having an identical controller to the SFC games that are so faithfully recreated seems like a no-brainer, really.

    I want this… HARD

That and a Saturn White pad 8with white buttons, oh… and a N64 one!

    hi Aoshi00,
to become a member of the nintendo club you need a japanese address, enough japanese writing(typing) knowledge to fill out a web form and if I remember at least one game purchased in Japan to get things started. The only way to get points is to enter the code that comes with your game. Square Enix has something similar. so for a DS Square game, you will get points for each. I have only registered 4 games so far and I think I have 100 points. I have a bunch more so I hope I can get this controller.

  • Aoshi00

@tt: Thanks for the info, so w/o a physical residential address in Jpn, we’re out of luck? I have two Square-Enix DS games (FFCC Ring of Fates and Chocobo Ehon) and New Super Mario.
