Marvelous spooks the DS with Nocturne mysteries

victorhorror.jpgBefore Marvelous existed, Victor Interactive published two Yasoukyoku (Nocturne) games on the Playstation. Jiro Akagawa, a Japanese mystery novelist, lent a hand to write the stories for the two games. Both games ended up selling well enough to join the PSBooks collection, but if you missed them then you can get them on a single DS cartridge.

In February 2008, Marvelous is re-releasing the two Nocturne games as Akagawa Jiro Mystery Yasoukyoku, touting the author’s name in the title. The story has you fill the role of a broke college student working in a supernatural library. Depending how you play through the story you will unlock a different ending. Hmm… isn’t Marvelous opening their doors in North America soon? I wonder if they will take a chance and localize this.
