The sun shines again? Flower, Sun and Rain gets a DS port

fsr.jpgGrasshopper Manufacture existed before their Killer7 fame. Some of their creative titles like Michigan found their way outside of Japan, but their older ones never got localized. In April, Suda 51 announced the Silver Jiken, Grasshopper Manufacture’s first game, was coming to the Nintendo DS.

Flower, Sun and Rain, Grasshopper Manufacture’s first Playstation 2 game, is getting one too. The downside is the models are notably downgraded from the console version. Fortunately, Flower, Sun and Rain relies more on its concept than eye candy. In Flower, Sun and Rain you play as Sumio Mondo, an assassin living in the F.S.R. hotel. You have the task of defusing a bomb on a plane before it crashes on the island, but instead of focusing on the goal the protagonist is distracted with problems from the natives. Sumio fails to remove the bomb, the plane explodes, but the game isn’t over. Time rewinds and Sumio is given another chance to defuse the bomb. Marvelous is planning to release the DS version next year and I think chances are good it will come to the USA. Let's put it this way, if the Silver Jiken is getting worldwide release this should too.

God I hope this comes to North America. It always looked interesting, but being a country bumpkin, the language barrier barred me from even considering playing it

Sounds interesting. I’ll have to pick it up if it sees release.
