Get your cameras ready! Pokemon Snap hits the US Virtual Console on December 10th

pkmnsnap.jpg In a rare instance of announcing a VC game days before it comes out, Nintendo has announced that Pokemon Snap will be hitting the North American Virtual Console on December 10th. The N64 classic is kinda like an on-rails shooter, except instead of shooting, you snap pictures of Pokemon. The real exciting news here is that Nintendo has added Wii Message Board functionality to the game. You can save pictures you snap to the Message Board, then send them to people on your Friend List via WiiConnect24. Hopefully this paves the way for more added functionality to Virtual Console games (like the oft-requested online play).

i enjoyed pokemon snap way more than i probably should have considering my age at the time, but i find it hard to believe that there are people (outside of japanese elementary schools) who would be excited at the notion of receiving wii messages containing pictures of snorlax, gyarados, or even the much loved pikachu. wait, was there a "squirtle squad" squirtle in snap? if so, disregard my first statement.
  • Oh snap! Totally grabbing this when it comes out. :D
