A few weeks ago we mentioned Square-Enix trademarked “The World Ends With You” and how it might be related to Subarashiki Kono Sekai (It’s a Wonderful World). Actually, it’s not might any more. The World Ends With You is the official international title for Subarashiki Kono Sekai. Square-Enix plans to bring it out in Europe in spring 2008 and it looks like it has extra features like Nintendo Wi-Fi support. A snippet from the press release mentions, “Shop till you drop! Keep abreast of the latest Trends to stay one step ahead of the fashion scene and your enemies. Trade items with friends using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection too.” I don’t recall the Japanese release taking advantage of Nintendo Wi-Fi or a chance encounter / casual data sharing feature that reminds me of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker.
Hey Roli, you thoroughly played through the Japanese release. Care to enlighten me and everyone else if the feature list is different?
Update: Rolando mentions that the features are the same. I could have sworn Wi-Fi was brand new though!

@Rolando - Wow really? I never knew the Japanese release had Wi-Fi trading. That’s old, but new news for me.
I would have mentioned WiFi before, but its only limited to data trading as mentioned in the PR. That’s it.
Wow, I forgot about this game. Maybe I’ll give it a try when it comes out.
man =_=; lol, a lil cred to Stat would be nice
Oh well. As long as the peoples know about it!
@ Rolando
Is the Japanese version local Wi-fi, or is it online? US release seems to be online, if I read correctly.
I don’t know how advanced the European version will be, but the Japanese version is local WiFi and not online.
Oh sorry, meant Euro release. Hope they have online for it! ^_^

Unless Square-Enix plans on ramping up the difficulty for its European audiences and its American audiences (once the game is announced for North America…remember THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU was already trademarked here), then no. Everything on that features list is the same as the Japanese release.
Then again, anything can happen.
