Sixaxis swinging, motion controlled bowling rolls on the PlayStation 3

hvb.jpgNow PlayStation 3 owners can take part in the controller swinging bowling craze by purchasing High Velocity Bowling on the PlayStation Store. The downloadable game takes a notable inspiration from Wii Sports Bowling, but it ups the quality of visuals and has a mode where you master trick shots. I messed around with High Velocity Bowling and it feels fairly responsive. However, it’s awkward to hold the Playstation controller like it’s a dog bone. Also the $10 price tag seems a little unreasonable for anyone who already owns a Wii.

Wii Sports also has a mode to master trick shots.

Is it a smart move for Sony considering how Wii has to remedy the flying remote situation by giving out thicker wrist straps? I suppose the prototype bommerang controller was axed because of this :)
