Capcom claims it will play like 2D,which remains to be seen. Being a long-time SF II fan (I used to spend every dollar I had in my wallet in the arcades), I'm optimistic about this game. I think it might take some time getting used to, but once you do, it'll be a huge hit.

Oh, Capcom, you're such teases when it comes to information surrounding Street Fighter IV's release.

Honestly, I was really hoping that for Street Fighter IV Capcom would stick to the franchise's roots by opting for high resolution 2D sprites in favor of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, which would instead serve as the template for SF IV. In that aspect, one could say this new 2.5D look is certainly disappointing, not to mention doesn't look nearly as good as SSFIITHDR, while clearly done to appeal to those gamers who wouldn't even give the game a second chance if it wasn't 3D. Although I truly find that hard to believe, as at one point in time, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting was the fastest selling XBLA title, including hundreds of games played within an hour.

With that said, I still remain highly optimistic about Street Fighter IV nonetheless. There's not much you can go off from with only a single screenshot revealed to the public at large, so whether you find SF IV to be to your liking from this single screen or not, I still say wait for an actual video demonstration of this title in action before giving any first impressions of Street Fighter IV.

I'm actually happy the fighting will take place on a 2D plane... I just NEVER got into the whole 3D fighter

Sometimes simple is better, I'm very excited

Well, if I want to play a 3d fighter I'll just play Virtua Fighter. Nobody likes sprites anymore :(
