Glancing at Away: Shuffle Dungeon’s art

With only a few months until Away: Shuffle Dungeon comes out in Japan we’re beginning to see what the project really is. The goal of the game is to rescue villagers trapped in a dungeon, but the maze morphs while you’re exploring it. The shuffling screen game play is unusual, but not entirely out of the blue because of the game's name.

 

The art is a different story. I never imagined blocky characters that look like Kubrick toys. I don’t think this is a pejorative point. The unique characters caught my eye and I’m even more curious about Away: Shuffle Dungeon. Now, if we could just see how a video of how it plays…
