Sega shuts down Initial D Special Stage servers too

ids.jpgThe same day Sega plans to pull the plug on the Xbox version of Phantasy Star Online, the online ranking system for Initial D: Special Stage and Initial D Arcade Stage Version 3 will be shut off. Also like Phantasy Star Online, Sega supported the leaderboards for five years too. While removing the leaderboards might be disappointing for die hard drifters both games will continue to function fine otherwise. Two online services nixed for two different games on January 31, 2008. I hope Sega isn’t planning on terminating any other online services, but I can’t think of many more titles that Sega could cut online services for. Phantasy Star Universe should have life in it for, at the very least, one more year.
