Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays kickoff with Metal Slug 3

Metal Slug 3 rocks, it’s probably my favorite game in the Metal Slug series. On January 2, 2008 it’s getting updated with HD graphics and more importantly online play through Xbox Live. Unlike other arcade to Xbox Live Arcade ports Metal Slug 3 commands premium pricing at 800 Microsoft Points ($10). Fatal Fury Special was only 400 Microsoft Points ($5). Is it worth the double the money? I think so, but only if you don't have Metal Slug Anthology.

Well it’s about time we’re finally getting Metal Slug 3 on XBLA. SNK Playmore have this tendency to announce ports of their classic Neo-Geo installments on consoles, and we never hear back from them about the title up until the point they’re finally getting ready to release the game on a home platform.

Metal Slug 3 is more than worth the wait, however. Simply put, I can’t get enough of SNK’s run and gun franchise, and with Metal Slug 3 happening to be my favorite installment in the series as well, this title will be a day one purchase for me on XBLA once the game goes up for download next year on January 2, 2008. With the addition of online co-op, not to mention updated HD graphics should only serve to improve this classic tried and true formula.
