Rise of downloadable content, Ubisoft releases Naruto characters on XLA

Rise of downloadable content, Ubisoft releases Naruto characters on XLA images on the Xbox Live Marketplace. For 500 Microsoft Points ($6.25) you get Jiraiya, the Third Hokage and two stages. The price for the 109 MB download seems a little steep, but unlike other add-on content you can try the before you buy. A trial option allows you to use each character and stage three times. I believe this is a precedent (!) and a feature more companies should take advantage to eliminate blind purchases.

Who'd have thought that some of the best 'downloadable content' practices we'd be seeing on XBL would be from... an Anime game?

I mean, downloading Japanese voices for free, now 'try before you buy'... Ubisoft knows some Innovation Jutsu!

Perhaps it is commendable but then again the most commendable thing that could be done is to sell the WHOLE damn game on the disc. Seriously, it is getting really old. These companies are not even trying to make it look like the content wasn't ready at launch.
