A mascot filled tennis game isn’t something that immediately fills me with excitement. But seeing more and more Sega characters from some of my all time favorites is certainly making me pay attention to Sega Superstar Tennis. Beat from Jet Set Radio is pictured above. He will face other “Superstars” like NiGHTS (NiGHTS), AiAi (Super Monkey Ball), Ulala (Space Channel 5), Amigo (Samba de Amigo), Eggman and of course Sonic. What doesn’t Sonic do these days? That’s shy of half the 15+ roster Sega is planning. What other original characters can they include? How about Ryu Hazuiki Ryo Hazuki, G from House of the Dead, Mieu and Alex Kidd? Hmm… even though Alex Kidd was once Sega’s darling he’s a dark horse, Vyse from Skies of Arcadia has a better chance than him.
Lol, as soon as I see the name Ryo Hazuki, that’s my instant question too. Imagine a Shenmue game w/ today’s graphics, I really want Shenmue 3, I hope that project is not dead yet..
Ryu Hazuiki? Who is that again? Yeah I meant Ryo! Thanks for the correction ![]()
No worries.
It’s like they forgot all about Shenmue and are just doing Ryu Ga Gotoku. Now, don’t get me wrong, I really liked the first game (aside from the terribly terrible English voices) but…you know…give us Shenmue III. Please? Their best shot was probably doing it for the PS2. Doing it for the new generation would have some insane costs that they most likely wouldn’t even break even with (considering the first two didn’t exactly do wonders against their development cost).
But yeah, every time I see that name (or Lan-Di’s) I just get this sudden bit of excitement and it quickly changes to sadness *sniff*.
A Jet Set Radio wii edition could be awesome.
Shenmue 3, hell yeah!

lol, the Eng. dub is part of the Shenmue charm
Though I must admit once you play it in Jpn, you’d realize how badass Ryo really is, instead of a goodie two shoes like how he comes off as in Eng. “Fuku-san!”

You mean Ryo Hazuki, right?
Can’t they just do a new Shenmue or JSR already, ugh.
