One Piece: Unlimited Adventure sets sail later this month

op.jpgNamco Bandai is releasing the first in the series of One Piece games for the Wii on January 22 in North America. Japan got this back in April and I’m not complaining about the localization time (really!). Before the announcement the fate of an international release was, at times, murky. Also seeing One Piece: Unlimited Adventure appear in English is a good indicator that Namco Bandai has an interest in localizing Luffy’s other adventures. Perhaps, the One Piece: Unlimited Cruise games scheduled to dock in Japan later this year will drift to North America afterwards.

This is very nice. I am glad were are getting nothing removed (though there are cross edits for Mihawk, cigar edits for Paulie and Smoker, and the Marines are the Navy on the Navy’s clothes: this is all probably leftovers from 4kids though)

It seems kind of foolish though. The game can have mild swearing, but no smoking

The US is even getting improved load times and less slowdown. Nice

I hope we get the Cruise games too.

Still not confirmed for PAL regions though. And shame for not having a japanese voice overs option.
