We might not know what system(s) Capcom is planning to release Street Fighter IV on, but it will appear in Japanese arcades. If Capcom is giving Street Fighter IV a proper arcade release in Japan there is a chance they will use a similar strategy in North America. Even if they don’t some brave independent arcade owners will import coin gobbling Street Fighter IV machines.

Brings me back to the days of hanging out in arcades with friends, lining up quarters on the machine and beating the crap out of each others. Playing w/ strangers could get intense too, some people got mad when they lost :) Come to think of it, my last days in the arcade was back in college playing Puzzle Fighter, and occasionally SF III.

Rebirth of arcade gaming???

Nope, nothing is getting reborn here. Maybe it’ll help arcades a bit in Japan, but in the U.S. the age of the fighting game is past.

And I’m not sorry about it either. Damn things ruined arcades for me.
