EZ2DJ, Korea’s other Beatmania clone

DJ Max Portable is probably the best known Beatmania clone to come out of Korea, but EZ2DJ has been around for a much longer time sitting in the arcades. The cabinet design is very reminiscent of Beatmania and guess what it plays like. However, there is a twist you use the foot pedal to hit another note. This gives EZ2DJ a total of seven notes split between: five keys, the turntable and a foot pedal. I gave this a whirl on Ruby mode, the easiest of the options where your life meter is indicated by hearts and instead of lines waiting at the bottom players have smiling stars. Besides these minor changes EZ2DJ is pretty much Beatmania Korea with original music.

IIDX Is still the way to go, foot pedal just makes things more ridiculous and that turntable is pathetic.

Didn’t Konami sue the company that made this?
I seem to remember reading that somewhere…

EZ2DJ 7-key mode works with the original 5-keys, plus the 2 top red ones closest to your side, 5 + 2 = 7-keys. I know its stupid, but thats honestly how 7-key works. The stupid mode is called SPACE MODE, when you play with all 14-keys on the panel, and 1 foot on each of tthe pedals.
