I just got off the phone with Tomy and D3 Publisher to ask a few questions in about Naruto: Ninja Destiny. I’ll spare you the basics about the 3D fighting system and how the Sannin are the three new characters in the US version to get straight to the news. The short story is the fighting system is essentially the same as the Japanese version. Nobby Matsuo, the Associate Producer from Tomy, explains “the gameplay experience is markedly different from what you would be used to if you played the Japanese version in terms of the button responses, attacks and the speed of the combat. It’s a lot more frantic, it’s a lot faster.” <ed: cleaned up the quote> The big change to the fighting system is the frame rate, which “has been improved since the Japanese release.”
“The story mode is completely different from the Japanese one,” Nobby explains, and in the revised single player mode you will encounter a different set of opponents. “As I recall the Japanese one, was original, but it was kind of lame. So we went ahead and took in the story mode from the TV version and adapted it for the game.” Content-wise Naruto: Ninja Destiny begins at around episode 100 and goes past the Rescue Sasuke arc up to around episode 140.
Update: Also despite what Nintendo’s massive release schedule says, Naruto: Ninja Destiny is on target for a “late February” release opposed to the March 2008 window in Nintendo’s press release.
I played the Japanese version… terrible, terrible game. They’d have to completely overhaul, well, everything to make me want to try this again. Not gonna happen.
no wifi, not so good game, repeats over and over and over and over again like wii version, Im waitin till EX 2 comes to america (the one that looks the most like narultimate accel)
It is finally here the seqeul to naruto clash of ninja revolution. Naruto: Clash if Ninja Revolution 2 is Rumored by Tomy, and D3 publisher, and said it is coming out October/ November,2008. Sadly there is no proof yet of what I am saying, but I emailed Tomy and they said there is going to be another naruto for wii, made by them along with D3 publisher, 8ing, Shonen Jump, and Viz media. Stick around on certain game areas, and I assure you there will be proof of it coming out in 2008. So stay on game sites like this for more info, and you will probably see previews in march, 2008, and I reccomend you look at them if you don’t believe me.

…
I really don’t have much of an interest.
The gameplay doesn’t look very good in the JPN version, and if all they did was tweak the framerate, then that really doesn’t impress me.
I am sure the game will sell well though >_>
OT: They better be working on Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 though
