Test drive L the proLogue to Death Note

ldnote.jpgCoinciding with the third Death Note live action movie is a new video game from Konami where you play as L, before the events in the anime series. Compared to the other two Death Note games for the DS, L the proLogue to Death Note, has more in common with a run of the mill adventure game. In the examine section you scan rooms for key items by poking them on the touch screen. During trap portions players pick apart bombs by using some of the items they found during the examine section while racing against the clock. Perhaps, the neatest twist is the reasoning battles where you corner characters with keywords and use limited bluffs to progress through the game.

If you’re really curious, Konami even has a flash demo to play. When you get to the main page click on the button that says "web" to try it out. Unfortunately, the text turns to gibberish for me even though I have Japanese fonts installed. I’m sure someone else knows a workaround to fix this and if you do please post it in the comments section.

Also notice Konami has English subtitles for the menu. Hmm… now that’s an interesting surprise…

No luck, can’t display the Jpn font w/ firefox either… The graphics and music are quite nice, I want to try out this game too. I think this would be better than the last two in that it’s more like a regular game.
