I hope this makes it stateside. Star Ocean 2 is one of my all time favorite RPGs. I just keep finding reasons to make a PSP purchase. One of these days soon (likely next month with Patapon) I'll buy one.

It'd be awesome to play this game in English and without a clunky annoying battle system with bad movement.

Sounds like an excellent remake. It's interesting most people are put off by the constant remakes of old classics, but if it's done right and still keeps the game fresh and just surpass the original playing experience (like this and FF IV), then it's really a gift from heaven, course not possible w/o a labor of love, milking notwithstanding. I was btwn playing Lost Odyssey (just beat it two weeks ago) and FF IV, and now waiting for No More Heroes, so I have no room for First Departure yet. But I want to get my paws on this too after reading your review, the smooth animation by I.G. looks hot indeed.

WANT, for any other console that's not PSP. (and of course, outside Japan)

I mean, look at tales of destiny 2, it has comparable graphics to this and it's coming out in PS2; not only that, but knowing that Namco has gone port mad on the PSP, porting pretty much everything later on; I feel Square-Enix has little sense of oportunism when they make stuff like this, I mean... I wouldn't be hard at all, and would mean money (and would mean that I could play it)
