Good news, you don’t need to import Arcana Heart! Atlus announced they picked up Examu’s fighting game and they are bringing it to North America on April 8. The price tag is only $29.99, a bargain compared to what Japan had to pay for it.![]()
I mentioned before that I played Arcana Heart, but not enough to get a deep feel to it. The customization system allows players to choose from eleven girls and eleven arcana for a total of 121 combinations. Adding to that number is the option to pick characters from the original arcade release or from the “full” patch. That is a lot of options for a 2D fighting game! Check out how some of them work in the North American trailer posted past the break.
Side note: AQ Interactive published this in Japan and they have a stake in XSeed Games. Out of all the localization companies I imagined XSeed would bring this over.
@alice - Sorry! This news caught me off guard too, but at least at Play-Asia it’s around the same price.
@spencer - It’s fine, I can’t cancel the order since they’re already shipping it unfortunately. Mostly it’s that I’ll end up buying the Atlus release too since I won’t need to do HDLoader junk to get that to play and hey now Arcana Heart has cost the $60 after all.
This is actually really surprising. I didn’t expect this at all. Atlus still keeps me on my toes. Now if only they’d confirm Persona 3: Fes…
oh poo, i just ordered this as well. I guess it’s not all bad as they are packaging the game with the full edition. I like giving Atlus my money.
son of a …
i ordered it too. it was too good not to get at that price. i grabbed it because i really didn’t expect it to come stateside. i know i’ll buy the american release too just to support this sort of thing, but i doubt that it will make any difference in the long run. the death of the ps2 is a strange sort of golden age for all us 2d fans.
Hopefully the will bode well for Melty Blood coming over here as well.
This is awesome!
AH was brought up in Altus’ forums a while back. I guess they checked into it.
I’m still holding out for Melty Blood as well, but this does look like a purchase for me, especially at $30.
Not a bad 2008 lineup so far, Drone Tactics, Rondo of Swords, Baroque and now this all interest me (I have no Xbox 360 so I can’t comment on those two).
I have no way of playing import PS2 games, so this news makes me happy.

Interesting….but I wonder how it will do against “King of Franchise”.
