Some cell phone providers in North America offer an emulated MSX2 version of Metal Gear. Meanwhile, Japan gets a 3D Metal Gear Solid mobile phone game aptly named Metal Gear Solid Mobile. The cell phone derivative shares much in common with Metal Gear Solid except you use a numeric keypad to move around and press the “5” key to shoot. One of the primary goals is to avoid being detected, which means you have to guide Snake behind walls and camouflage him accordingly. The camouflage system is particularly neat because you customize Snake’s outfit by taking photos. Conveniently, the world of Metal Gear Solid is saturated with grey, a color easily found in subway tunnels where I imagine is the perfect place to kill time with Metal Gear Solid Mobile.
